Israeli airstrikes on Damascus international airport area kill seven members among Iranians and regime forces

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported several fatalities as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the area of Damascus international airport before midnight on Thursday, where at least four Iranian officers were killed in addition to the killing of three regime soldiers, including at least two officers, by Israeli missiles targeted the airport area after an intelligence operation. The attack took place after the arrival of a cargo plane, which it is not yet known whether it had arrived from Iran or from another area inside Syrian territory.

On the 6th of this month, SOHR sources reported that Israeli shelling targeted regime forces and pro-Iranian militias’ positions in the 1st Division of the “91st Brigade” nearby Al-Kiswah city, the “75th Brigade” nearby Al-Muqaylabiyah village to the west of Damascus, positions in Jisr Baghdad area on the road between Damascus and Homs, and the agricultural airport in the south of Izraa in Daraa province.

The attack killed 23 people, 15 of whom pro-Iranian militias, including five Syrians and the rest of non-Syrian citizens, including at least three Iranians killed by Israeli shelling on their positions near Damascus and Daraa, and eight regime soldiers were killed, including an officer, as a result of shelling on positions containing air defense batteries near Damascus.
