Russian forces deploy along M5 highway in Idlib

Syrian Observatory sources reported seeing Russian soldiers and military vehicles being deployed in the north of Maarrat Al-Nu’man city and along the part of Aleppo – Damascus international highway which passes through Idlib province. The Russian forces deployment along the M5 highway comes as apart of implementing the 2018’s deal between Putin and Erdogan.

Hours ago, Observatory sources reported seeing a new Turkish military column of nearly 70 vehicles crossing into the Syrian territory via Kafr Lusin border crossing, north of Idlib. Most of the vehicles are covered and it is very likely that they are carrying weapons and ammunition.

During the period between February 2 and today, SOHR activists monitored the entry of more than 2100 trucks and military vehicles to the Syrian territory, including tanks, personnel carriers, armored vehicles, mobile bulletproof guard booths and military radars. Meanwhile the number of Turkish soldiers who were deployed during the same period in Idlib and Aleppo exceeded 7000.
