Turkish forces retreat from villages in rural Tal Tamr for unknown reasons

Syrian Observatory activists say that Turkish forces evacuated new positions in Tal Tamr countryside a week after their pullout from several areas there. According to SOHR sources, Turkish troops retreated from the villages of Harras, Al-Souda, Al-Manajir and Al-Shabliyah, after they had lit their headquarters on fire. No information has been reported yet about the reasons behind this pullout.

“There is a state of tension between the Turkish forces and their Syrian proxies prevailing in the area” the sources added.

On February 12, SOHR activists reported seeing Turkish troops retreating from their positions in the villages of Helewah, Jamus, Arishah, Mahmoudiyah, Al-Sudah, Al-Said and Kherbet Jammu in Tal Tamr – Abu Rasin area. No information has been reported yet about the reasons behind this pullout.

Sources have suggested that these areas have not been mainly within Turkey’s plans. A group of the retreated forces headed towards Tal Halaf village, at nearly three kilo meters to the west of Ras Al-Ain city.
