Afrin in two years: violations of all kinds continue against civilians since Turkish forces and “Olive Branch” factions seized the city

Ankara-backed factions, affiliated with “Olive Branch” factions, continue stealing, looting and blackmailing civilians in Afrin city and its belonged areas, in order to force the residents to leave their areas as part of the armed factions’ systematic policy and with the full consent of Turkish forces.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, in turn, continues monitoring all kinds of violations in the region by the factions under various kinds of names.
Reliable source informed SOHR that Turkish-backed “Northern Hawks” faction has forced local residents in the villages of Qazalbash and Bilan to pay money to the “courthouse”, which belongs to the factions, in Raju district under arrest threat if the residents refuse to pay the amounts requested.
Members of the same faction force civilians to pruning olive trees and vineyards and using their tractors to transport firewood from the bushes and orchards owned by the faction leader for free.
Moreover, car and truck drivers on the road of Bulbul-city center of Afrin are subjected to constant financial blackmail as they pass through the widespread checkpoints, and often they can not continue their way without paying money, while the Islamic Turkish-backed faction “Al Sham Corps” uprooted more than 3,000 olive trees in the villages of Bulbul district, including 2,000 trees in the district center only where they are sold as firewood.
