Turkish-backed factions continue their abuses in “Peace Spring” areas and hold a citizen to demand ransom

Turkish-backed factions continue to carry out the most heinous violations against civilians in the areas they recently captured in northeastern countryside of Syria after “Peace Spring” Operation, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the Turkish-backed factions releasing a citizen they detained for a month with the purpose of extortion and demanding a ransom after he returned to Ras al-Ayn city.

The factions released him after receiving about $10,000.

The Syrian Observatory monitored on the 30th of January 2020 that the Turkish-backed factions continue to carry out the most heinous violations against the civilians in the areas that they recently controlled in northeastern Syria by “Peace Spring” Operation, where members of those factions stole 20 sheep belong to one of the citizens in al-Amir village, which is located on the international M4 road north al-Raqqah.

The Syrian Observatory monitored on the 1st of January 2019 that one of the factions located in the city of Ras al-Ayn (Sari Kani) kidnapped a Kurdish young man with special needs, after returning to his home with his mother, the Syrian Observatory sources said that members of the faction tried to kill the young man but the intervention of the residents of the neighborhood prevented that from happening, then was kidnaped by the faction waiting for an unknown fate.

The Syrian Observatory sources added that the mother of the young man tried repeatedly through dignitaries close to the factions in order to release her son, but all her attempts failed, amid reports that the faction who kidnapped the young man was “Al-Hamza Division”.
