Despite Russian airpower, Turkish forces impede regime advance in Saraqeb with intensive rocket fire

The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of a man, his wife and two of their children as a result of an airstrike carried out by Russian jets on the outskirts of the village of Billion in Jabal al-Zawiya on Friday morning.

Moreover, violent clashes have continued on eastern outskirts of Saraqeb city in eastern countryside of Idlib, between rebels and jihadist groups backed by Turkish forces on the one hand, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, as part of the ongoing attacks by regime forces in an attempt to regain control of the city backed by continous Russian airpower.

On the other hand, Turkish artillery has supported the rebels in repelling the attack through intensive and continuous bombardment on regime forces positions and the frontlines, impeding regime forces advance to date.

Meanwhile, regime jets have carried out raids on Sarmin and Saraqeb, while Russian jets have also carried out raids on the perimeter of the city of Ariha.

Reliable source have informed SOHR that large military reinforcement of opposition factions reached the fronts of Saraqeb coming from the areas of “Olive Branch” factions.
