Former fighters arrive in N Syria after rejecting reconciliation with Syrian regime in Daraa

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Syrian Observatory sources have reported that the convoy of former fighters in opposition factions who have been evacuated from Daraa, arrived at the farthest regime checkpoint nearby Al-Bab area in the north-eastern countryside of Aleppo. they are awaiting for being allowed to cross into the Turkish-held city of Al-Bab or to head to Idlib province.

The convoy contained 21 opposition former fighters from Al-Sanamayn city, north of Daraa, who rejected the new “reconciliation” with regime forces. The fighters left Daraa yesterday evening heading to north Syria under a deal, sponsored by Russia, to evacuate opposition fighters who refused to have their security situation settled with the Syrian regime.

Security situation of other fighters who preferred to stay in the city, is expected to be settled today.

It worth mentioning that the Syrian regime has never struck reconciliation deals with fighters or oppositionists in al-Sanamin city, since the regime forces had captured it before any reconciliation deals were struck in Daraa province.

Reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory yesterday that cautious calm is prevailing in Al-Sanamayn city in the northern countryside of Daraa 24 hours after dramatic developments in the city.

According to SOHR sources, regime forces brokered an agreement with opposition former fighters, under Russia’s supervision, stipulated for settling the security situation of people who want to stay in the city and evacuating the oppositionists to north Syria.

It is noteworthy that seven opposition fighters were killed yesterday in shelling and clashes with regime forces in Al-Sanamayn city.
