Afrin’s violations: Turkish-backed factions of “National Army” continue to fell trees

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Syrian Observatory activists have confirmed that violations are still continuing in the Turkish-controlled canton of Afrin in the north-western countryside of Aleppo. Fighters of Turkish-backed factions felled many trees in Al-Mahmoudiyah neighborhood in Afrin city center, along with felling more trees in different areas in Afrin countryside.

On the other hand, “Al-Jabha al-Shamiyyah” and “Al-Hamzat” factions, which are deployed in Afrin city and countryside, sell houses to people who have been displaced to Afrin for 2,000 up to 6,000 USD. These houses are owned by people of Afrin who have been forced to displace due to earlier military operations and Turkey and its proxies’ systematic policy of clamping down on the Kurds to force them to leave their areas.
