Tense calm prevails in the “de-escalation zone” as ceasefire enters its 24th day

Syrian Observatory activists have reported that tense calm is prevailing throughout the area of “Putin – Erdogan” as the new ceasefire enters its 24th consecutive day. Meanwhile, regime and Russian aerial operations have been suspended completely.

Observatory sources documented several violations yesterday represented by artillery shelling carried out by regime forces stationed in Kensabba, targeting the vicinity of the Turkish observation post in al-Najeya town west of Idlib. No casualties were reported.

Observatory activists also monitored clashes with light and medium weapons between opposition factions and jihadi groups on one hand, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, on frontlines of Al-Ftera and Kafr Nubl in southern Idlib. These clashes, which coincide with rocket fire by regime forces, followed regime attacks on the area.
