Number of coronavirus cases among Iranians and Iraqis rises to 29, five of which are Iranians in southern rural Aleppo

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights continues tracking and monitoring the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in Syrian regime-controlled areas. The number of people infected with coronavirus of Iranian-backed militias in Al-Mayadeen has risen to 29, five of whom were infected in southern countryside of Aleppo of Iranian nationality, as follows: 16 of Iranian nationality and 13 of Iraqi nationality.

This development comes while the regime insists on keeping the infected cases undeclared among Iranian and Iraqi militias operating in Syria.

The Syrian Observatory reported a few days ago that an Iranian died as a result of lung infections, said to have been infected with the virus, however, we, at the Syrian Observatory, can neither confirm nor definitively deny it.
