The regime helicopters drop leaflets in the south of Idlib coincided with seizing the first village after more than a month since expelling them from the province

SOHR received a copy of leaflets dropped by the regime helicopters on Khan Sheikhoun area and other places in the south of Idlib. The leaflets stated “choose the future of your sons the decision is yours, it is allowed for the holder of this card to cross the Army’s checkpoints safely, the Syrian Army is going to offer the food and medical assistance for the holders of this card, cooperate with the Syrian Army, leave the areas that witness clashes for your safety.” The leaflets also included “when you get close to the Syrian Army’s checkpoints be sure that you do not carry any kind of weapons, carry your personal identities and your necessary needs with you, when the terrorists opened fire come the earth mounds and lie down on the ground, keep away from terrorists’ groups so they do not use you as human shields, when you approach to the army’s checkpoint walk in the open road and lift up this card or a white cloth.

 

The leaflets also included warnings from the regime forces that they are going to shell the area , and that the fighters and people must leave the area and surrender themselves to the regime forces. One of the leaflets stated, “the intensity of the strikes escalate, the next day are greater, tomorrow at 12 o’clock, crushing blows are going to be carried out against this region.” Another leaflet stated, “keep away from the fighters’ post, dumps headquarters, move from the area towards the east, be sure that you do not have any weapons, be careful we watch you strictly, violating this instructions puts you and your companions’ life at risk.
