After the death of more than 1750 people, Syria Democratic Forces take over the last ISIS pocket in Manbij city

It was confirmed that the “Islamic State” members and civilians who are in the last pocket of the organization at the northern part of Manbij city, they began to move towards Jarablos area in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo by about 500 cars carrying members organize and civilians, the moving process was carried out without a spoken agreement between the Syria Democratic Forces and the “Islamic state”, it was done by local mediation between both parties, provided they do not announce it officially, and with this operation, the Syria Democratic Forces were able to control the organization’s last pocket in the city, and it was done without a fight .

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received a copy of a statement issued by the leadership of The Syria Democratic Forces in Manbij, of which they spoke about their intention to start a military operation in the northern part of Manbij city, after receiving no response from the “Islamic State” regarding the three truces and initiatives that will allow the “Islamic State” members to leave, in exchange for releasing the prisoners and to un-detain the civilians held at the last pocket north of Manbij city.

 

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights managed to document the death of 1744 civilians and fighters in Manbij area, since the 31st of May 2016 until the 12th of August 2016,  where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights managed to document the death of 438 civilian citizens, including 105 children under the age of eighteen, and 55 citizen women over the age of eighteen since the 31st of May 2016 until the 12th of August 2016, and they are 203 people, including 52 children, 18 citizen women and 8 prisoners, the number of Syrian civilian casualties killed by the warplanes of the international coalition in Manbij city and its countryside in the same period, also the airstrikes at Manbij city and its countryside left hundreds wounded, some of them are still dangerous situations, and 235 people, including 53 children under the age of eighteen, and 37 citizen women over the age of 18, the number of civilian casualties who were killed in shelling by the “Islamic State”, the fire of their snipers, heavy machineguns and the explosion of mines planted by the organization in the city, its outskirts and countryside, and by shelling by the Syria Democratic Forces and the fire of their snipers, and because of the explosion of booby trapped vehicles during the same period.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented in the same period the death of 299 of The Syria Democratic Forces’ fighters, including the commander in this troops and the commander of Shams al-Shamal Brigades Faisal Al Saadoun, also known as “Abu Laila”, all of them were killed in shelling, the explosion of booby trapped vehicles and sniper fire in the city of Manbij and its countryside.

 

Also the Observatory documented the killing of 1019 members and commanders at least from the “Islamic State”, they were killed in bombing by the warplanes of the international coalition and the clashes against The Syria Democratic Forces in Manbij city and its countryside since the end of last May until today.

 

While the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received confirmed information about the presence of tens of fighters who were killed in the shelling, airstrikes and the detonation of booby trapped vehicles during the clashes between The Syria Democratic Forces against the “Islamic state” since the start of Manbij military operations at the end of May 2016.
