Details of the first 24 hours of the Turkish – Russian cease-fire agreement in Syria

The Turkish – Russian cease-fire has completed its first 24 hours, the first day witnessed violations is several areas in Syria, where the SOHR documented the death of one citizen in the truce areas, he was killed by sniper fire on the outskirts of Douma city in the Eastern Ghouta, but the biggest breaches were in the provinces of Hama, Idlib and Damascus, as well as for violations in Daraa and Homs and the northern countryside of Hama, also the Eastern Ghouta witnessed several rounds of clashes between Islamic factions against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, the clashes were focused on the fronts of al-Bahariyah, al-Mid’aani and the international highway, and coincided with the fall of about 20 shells on the outskirts of Douma city, Msraba, between Douma and al-Shifonyyah, Hazrma farms and Jesrin town in the Eastern Ghouta, also violent clashes took place pace between Fath al-Sham Front and the rebel and Islamic Factions against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the areas of Bsima and Husseiniya and other areas in Wadi Barada, in conjunction with carrying out about 22 airstrikes by warplanes and helicopters targeting the clash areas and the barren Mountains of Wadi Barada.

also about 20 airstrikes targeted Skik village and the road of Tal Aas – Khan Shaykhun, and on the towns and villages of Kafr Zita, Al-Lataminah, Morek, Halfaya, al-Zowwar and Al-Lataminah, while  the regime forces also launched more than 10 shells on areas in the towns and villages of Zakat, al-Lataminah, Kafr Zita, Hasraya and al-Arba’ein in the northern countryside of Hama, no information about casualties yet, also clashes erupted between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against Islamic factions who are not known until this moment whether they were from Jund al- Aqsa who “swore allegiance” to Fath al-Sham Front or not, the clashes took place in Peugeot Hill area in the vicinity of Mharda town at the northern countryside of Hama, and due to the clashes the regime forces withdrew from the hill, but later they the re-control it, at least 6 members of the regime forces were killed and wounded in the same clashes.

also the city of Daraa and the towns of Alma and Yadodeh were targeted by the regime forces, while shells launched by the factions and landed on areas in the village of Khabab in the northeastern countryside of Daraa, which caused injuries and one of them is in critical condition, in addition to targeting the town of MasHara in the countryside of Quneitra with heavy machineguns, also the regime forces targeted using shells and machineguns areas in Houla and Rastan and elsewhere in Om Sharshuh near Talbiseh city in the northern countryside of Homs, while the villages of Atshan and Btish in the countryside of Hama were heavily targeted using machineguns, in addition to targeting by the factions for the villages of Al-Rabiah and Akrad al-Dasniyyeh which are controlled by the regime forces in a the countryside of Hama and Homs, no information about casualties.

This Russian – Turkish truce is the third ceasefire in Syria during the year 2016, and it started at midnight of Thursday – Friday the 30th of December 2016, also a Russian – American cease-fire took place in most areas of Syria and continued since 7 in the evening of the 12th of September 2016 until 7 in the evening of the 19th of September 2016, also it was preceded by a truce and a cease-fire in Syria in the 27th of February 2016, but the agreement fell apart in the last third of April 2016, and the military machines re-started the killing and the escalation of bombing on most areas of Syria
