Syria Democratic Forces advance in the countryside of al-Tabaqa within “Euphrates Wrath” operation

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
Violent clashes are taking place between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by US Special Forces and warplanes of the international coalition against and members of the “Islamic State”, the clashes were focused in the vicinity of Mahmodley town in the northern countryside of al-Tabaqa, of which the Syria Democratic Forces managed to control most of it, also the organization is trying to re-advance towards it and regain control over it, also clashes between both parties are taking place in the vicinity of Tal al-Samn area in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, in an attempt by fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces to achieve more advancement towards Al-Raqqah city, as part of the second phase of Euphrates Wrath operation, which was announced on the 10th of December 2016. The “Euphrates Wrath” operation was launch early November 2016 and aim to reach Al-Raqqah city and isolate it from its countryside, in preparation to control it and expel the organization out of it.
