Today the 2nd of January 2017 the regime forces backed by Hezbollah and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities end the second week of the start of military operations in Wadi Barada area in Rif Dimashq, it was started by the shelling regime forces that got escalated with the start of moving by members of the regime and their try to penetrate toward the depth of Wadi Barada, which has a strategic importance to the regime, because it contain water sources that feed most of the capital Damascus, and when the escalation of military action against the rebel and Islamic Factions and Fath al-Sham Front in Barada valley entered its third day, the regime authorities cut off water coming from Ein Fijah to the capital Damascus on Friday 23rd of December 2016, claiming that the factions pumped fuel “diesel” through the pipelines that deliver water to the capital, then it turned out that the diesel fuel was leaked into the pipes during the military operations in Ein al-Fijah which destroyed a pump room in the area.
The regime forces stepped up the military action by intensifying its aerial bombardment of the warplanes and helicopters, and the escalation of artillery and rocket attacks on towns and villages of Husseiniya Ein al-Fijah, Bsima, Deir Meqren, Dier Qanoon and the barren mountains of Wadi Barada, in an attempt to control it militarily, or to continue putting pressure until a “reconciliation and the settlement of the situation” agreement is reached with those in charge of Wadi Barada, as happened in Khan al-Shih, Muadamiyat al-Sham, Darayya, Qudsaya and al-Hamah in the outskirts of the capital Damascus and in the Western Ghouta, where the shelling caused tens of casualties and injuries in addition to the kill of fighters in the clashes and the exchange of shelling between them and the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, also hundreds of people -mostly children and women- got yesterday Sunday the 1st of December 2017 out of Wadi Barada area through the checkpoint of Deir Meqren where the regime forces take position, and they were transferred to regime forces’ controlled areas and shelter centers in Rif Dimashq.
