72 hours of offensive -and counting- by the regime in the western desert of Palmyra, more than 20 killed

Homs Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
The frequency of clashes declined since the early hours of this morning between the regime forces supported by gunmen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization, in the vicinity of the T4 airbase and other areas in the western desert of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, where the regime forces are trying by their offensive (which completed its first 72 hours) to achieve advancement in the area.
yesterday witnessed a rise in the frequency of the attack by the regime forces in hills and areas in the vicinity of the airbase, faced with desperate attack by the “Islamic State” organization to repel the attack, accompanied with detonating two booby trapped cars by organization targeting the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, while the Syrian Observatory for human rights documented the killing of 21 members at least of both parties, they are 12 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them and 9 members of the organization, in addition to injuring tens of both parties.

Also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was aware that the regime forces have brought military reinforcements of forces, weapon and ammunition to the clash areas in the eastern countryside of Homs and Palmyra desert, so that they continue their offensive in order to regain control the areas they lost to the organization during the organization’s violent attack which on the 8th of December 2016.
