In the largest death toll by assassinations against Fateh al-Sham Front… coalition’s warplanes kill 76 members and commanders at least and injure tens of others in bombardment of Regiment 111 west of Aleppo

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that it rose to at least 76, the number of fighters of Fateh al-Sham Front and its commanders, who were killed after targeting by the international coalition for a place of their presence in the western countryside of Aleppo, and the Syrian Observatory was informed that among those who were killed there are at least 49 fighters of Syrian nationality, as well as 8 commanders of non-Syrian nationalities, all of them were killed in the targeting that took place on the 19th of January 2017 on the Regiment 111, which is also known as Sheikh Suleiman Regiment due to its proximity to the village which has the same name; Sheikh Suleiman village. This rise in the death toll came as a result of finding more bodies under the rubble of the destruction caused by the bombing by the international coalition’s warplanes; also many of the injured persons died affected by their critical health situation and dangerous injuries.

The number of killed members of Fateh al-Sham Front may still rise to more than 130, because some of them are still in critical situation and because there are still some of them missing, in addition to the presence of bodies of members under the rubble of destruction caused by the direct targeting of the Regiment 111 near the town of Darat Azza in the western countryside of Aleppo, while several reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian observatory for human rights that the international coalition has had information about the gathering of fighters and members of Fateh al-Sham Front inside the Sheikh Suleiman Camp at that time when they targeted the camp.

And with this rise in the death toll caused by the assassination operations carried out from the air -of which the international coalition carried out most of them- it rose to at least 132, the number fighters of the “jihadist” groups and their commanders who have been assassinated by targeting by warplanes, where these operations escalated since the 1st until the 22nd of January 2017, where at least 76 fighters and commanders of Fateh al-Sham Front were killed in targeting at their positions, headquarters and vehicles in the Sheikh Suleiman Camp in the Regiment 111 at the western countryside of Aleppo, also a commander of Moroccan nationalities was killed in the targeting which took place in the 17th of January 2017 in the area of Aqrabat in the northern countryside of Idlib, while a person was killed after targeting a motorcycle he was riding on the road of Qminas – Sarmin in the eastern countryside of Idlib on the 12th of January 2017, also 3 fighters were killed in target after midnight of Wednesday – Thursday on the road of Salqeen – Kafr Takharim, also at least 16 were killed including 2 commanders in the successive targeting that took place in Saraqeb area in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and it is unknown whether they were all belong to Fateh al-Sham Front or not, also the Observatory documented the leader Abu Hasan Taftanaz and another Sharia leader of his relatives, they were killed in targeting that took place on the 6th of this month in Taftanaz area in the eastern countryside of Idlib by drones, the Observatory also documented in the 4th of this month 25 others members, including 7 leaders at least in airstrikes by coalition’s warplanes which targeted one of the biggest headquarters of Fath al-Sham Front (formerly Nusra Front ) during a meeting inside it near Sarmada town in the northern countryside of Idlib, which is near the Syrian border – Turkish, also The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights had documented the death of 8 fighters and leaders who were killed on the 1st of January 2017, they were killed in airstrikes that targeted cars they were traveling on at the road of Sarmada – Hazano, and the road of Sarmada – Bab Al-Hawa in the northern countryside of Idlib, and within who were confirmed dead there are 3 leaders in the “jihadist” factions which operate on the Syrian territory, they are Abu Mu’tasim al-Dairi of Syrian nationality and Abu Khattab al-Qahtani the leader in “Al-Qaeda” who previously fought in Afghanistan, Yemen and then moved to Syria, and Abu Omar al-Turkestani who is one of top ten leading “jihadists” in Syria, and one of the four most prominent leaders of the Islamic Turkestan Party, where most of the bodies were blackened except for the body of Abu Omar Turkestani, it was not burned.
