Ceasefire ends its first 40 hours with a civilian casualty and escalated violations and the northern countryside of Hama witnesses about 500 raids, artillery and air strikes

 

The cease-fire has completed its first 40 hours, within the “de-escalation zones” which extend from the north of Syria to the south of Syria, and include Idlib province, the northern countryside of both Hama and Homs, the Eastern Ghouta and the Syrian south, since the midnight of Friday-Saturday the 6th of May 2017 the date of start carrying out the ceasefire agreement the of May until the 4 Pm of Sunday the 7th of May 2017, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented on Sunday the 7th of May the violations in the areas of ” de-escalation zones “,  where the warplanes and helicopters renewed the bombing with missiles and barrel bombs on areas in al-Lataminah town in the northern countryside of Hama, while the clashes continue between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions in areas in al-Zallaqiyyat village and its vicinity, and the regime forces managed to advance and control the village which is located about hundreds of meters away of Halfaya town near al-Lataminah, and controlling the village came after continuous hit and run battles on the third day in a row, where the regime forces seek to strengthen their control before a counter attack by factions on the area, and the area has witnessed since the dawn of yesterday on Saturday until now shelling with about 400 artillery and rocket shells, and dropping about 40 barrel bombs by helicopters and carrying out more than 50 raids by warplanes targeting al-Zallaqiyyat and its vicinity and also other areas in the northern countryside of Hama, and controlling this village is very important to the regime forces because it’s very close to al-Lataminah town and it also keeps the factions away of Mahardah town, and the number of casualties of Jaysh al-Ezzah and of the rebel and Islamic factions rose to 17 fighters who were killed in al-Zallaqiyyat area and have been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights so far, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 11 members at least of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.

Also several missiles believed to be ground to ground were launched by the regime forces and landed on areas in al-Qaboun neighborhood in the eastern outskirts of the capital Damascus, and the regime forces also shelled areas in al-Qaboun neighborhood with artillery shells, while the clashes renewed between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the Islamic factions which consist of al-Rahman corps, Jaysh al-Islam, and the Islamic movement of Ahrar al-Sham in areas in the eastern front of al-Qaboun neighborhood after a new attack by the regime forces in a new attempt to advance, and the clashes are coincided with exchange of targeting between both parties.

Also the regime forces shelled places in al-Ashaari area in the Eastern Ghouta, while the regime forces shelled areas in Daraa al-Balad in Daraaa city, while several shells were launched by the regime forces and landed on areas in al-Yadoudah town in the northwestern countryside of Daraa.
