The cease-fire has completed its first 48 hours, within the “de-escalation zones” which extend from the north of Syria to the south of Syria, and include Idlib province, the northern countryside of both Hama and Homs, the Eastern Ghouta and the Syrian south, since the midnight of Friday-Saturday the 6th of May 2017, and Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the breaches in these areas.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the violations in these areas on Sunday the 7th of May 2017, where warplanes and helicopters renewed their bombing with shells and barrel bombs areas in the town of Lataminah in the northern country of Hama, followed by raids on Lataminah, while clashes took place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions in the village of al-Zallaqiyyat and its surroundings, where the regime forces were able to advance and control the village which is hundreds of meters away of Halfaya town from the side of al-Lataminah, and this control came after hit-and-run clashes for the 3rd consecutive day, where the regime forces are seeking to hold the control before any counter attack by the factions on the area, also since the dawn of Saturday until the end of Sunday about 400 artillery shells and missile, about 40 barrel bombs dropped by helicopter and more than 50 raids by warplanes targeted al-Zallaqiyyat and its vicinity and other areas in the northern countryside of Hama, and the importance of the village in the case the regime were able to hold control of it comes from its being closer to Al-Lataminah town and keep the factions away from Muhradah town, where it rose to 17, the number of fighters of Jaysh al-Izza and the rebel and Islamic factions who were documented by the Syrian Observatory for human rights until now, they were killed since Saturday in clashes at Zallaqiyyat front, while the observatory had documented the killing of 11 members at least from the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them.
Also, several ground-to-ground missiles launched by the regime forces landed on areas in Qaboun neighborhood at the eastern outskirts of the capital, also the regime forces shelled areas in Qaboun neighborhood with artillery shells, while clashes took place between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the Islamic factions of Rahman Corps, Jaysh al-Islam and the Islamic movement of Ahrar al-Sham on areas in the areas at the eastern front of Qaboun neighborhood, after a new attack by the regime forces in a new attempt to advance, and the clashes are accompanied by exchange of targeting between both parties.
The regime forces also shelled places in Ash’ari area in the Eastern Ghouta, also clashes took place in areas in the Eastern al-Qalamoun between the rebel and Islamic Factions against the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, after an attack by the last mentioned started on Saturday on the area, amid advancement for the regime forces and controlling Sabea Biyar area in addition to the controlling points and locations in the international highway of Damascus – Baghdad area, while the regime forces shelled places in Naemeh town east of Daraa city, the regime forces also shelled areas in Daraa al-Balad in the city of Daraa, while several mortar shells launched by the regime forces and fell on areas in Yadodeh town in the northwestern countryside of Daraa, while the regime forces launched mortars on places in the Western Samadaniyah in the countryside of Quneitra, no information about injuries, in conjunction with an exchange of fire on the town area between the regime forces against the factions.
The regime forces also shelled places in the village of Um Sharshuh in the northern countryside of Homs, amid clashes west of Talbiseh city in the same countryside, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the rebel and Islamic factions.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights did not document the fall of any civilian casualty in the areas that are covered by the agreement which are defined as “de-escalation zones”, while the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 14 fighters from the rebel and Islamic Factions and Jaysh al-Izza who were killed in al-Zallaqiyyat battles in Hama, which raise the number of fighters documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights to 21, including 4 who were killed in the vicinity of Khirbat Ghazala in the countryside of Daraa, and the rest of them were killed in al-Zallaqiyyat battles in the northern countryside of Hama, the Syrian Observatory also documented 11 members of the regime forces who were killed in the same clashes, the Observatory also documented on the first day the death of a child in shelling on the road of al-Ghantu Talbiseh in the northern countryside of Homs.
