Airstrikes kill 35 of the civilians and family members of the “Islamic State” organization and raise to at least 50, the victims of targeting the city within 24 hours
Deir Ezzor province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Explosions took place on evening of the 25th of May 2017 and shook Al-Mayadin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, they were caused by bombing by warplanes which killed and injuring tens of people in the city, and in the details obtained and documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: at 7:25 pm two warplanes accompanied by 2 drones hovered in the sky of Al-Mayadin city, coincided with citizens’ entry to the city’s mosques, where both warplanes carried out 4 strikes using 4 consecutive rockets, the first two rockets targeted the 4-storey al-Dahmoush building, where most of its houses have families members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and Moroccan nationalities, which destroyed it completely, the raid killed a man and 2 women and a baby from Al-Mayadin, while the second raid targeted the market of the city, which killed a woman, her 2 children and 2 other children. The number of Syrian persons who were killed has become 9, including 5 children and 3 citizen women.
Reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the strikes on the Dahmoush building have killed 26 other people at least, most of them are from the families of the organization’s members, others were injured and gone missing due to these airstrikes, where the Syrian Observatory learned that those who were killed, injured and gone missing belong to 7 families of members of the “Islamic State” organization, and the numbers of killed persons may still rise because some of the injured persons are in critical situations and also because there are missing persons whose fate is not known, also the sources told the Observatory that the organization put a security perimeter on the bombed place and prevented the citizens from approaching, while local sources confirmed to the Observatory that the warplanes remained hovering for about 15 minutes before carrying out the raids.
