The “Islamic State” organization carries out the second attack within 6 days of continuous clashes in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city

 

The “Islamic State” organization continues its clashes in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city for the 6th consecutive day, trying to achieve advancement at the expense of the regime forces, who failed in about 5 months of the most violent clashes in Deir Ezzor city and its surroundings to regain control of any area they had lost to the “Islamic State” organization, which carried out a new siege on Deir Ezzor airbase and the city, after the first siege that began early 2015 on regime forces’ controlled areas in the city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the “Islamic State” organization carried out an attack dawn of today Thursday, the 8th of June 2017, targeting the Brigade 137, the attack was started by detonating a booby trapped vehicle targeting a site of the regime forces at the outskirts of the brigade, also the clashes continue between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization in the vicinity of the Brigade 137, in an attempt by the organization to advance at the expense of the regime forces, and the clashes are accompanied by heavy and intense rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on areas and sites of the organization, amid airstrikes by warplanes on the vicinity of the Brigade, Panorama, places in Deir Ezzor city and the cemeteries area in its surroundings, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties, the warplanes also bombed places in Ayash area at the western outskirts of Deir Ezzor, which caused injuries.
