Tiger Groups and the Elite of Hezbollah arrive at the contact line with the “Euphrates Wrath” operation forces in Al-Raqqah and control about 500 square kilometers from the western countryside of the province

The military operations and the clashes continue between the regime forces led by Tiger Groups and with the support of the Elite Forces of the Lebanese Hezbollah and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, against members of the “Islamic State” organization in the western countryside of Al-Raqqah province, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the regime forces within the last 24 hours go deep in Al-Raqqah province, after about 48 hours of being able to pass the administrative borders of Al-Raqqah with Aleppo province, and entering the first two villages in the far west of Al-Raqqah.

This advancement for the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities in the depth of Al-Raqqah province has enabled them to reclaim a geographical area of about 500 square kilometers from the western countryside of Al-Raqqah, and in the past 24 hours they took control of 20 villages and towns, where this advancement has brought them to the contact lines with the Syria Democratic forces, who lead the “Euphrates Wrath” operation in Al-Raqqah Province since the 6th of November 2016, where a stretch of water of the Euphrates River separates them.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned from reliable sources that the regime forces prepare to continue their offensive towards the south of the areas which they took control of in the western countryside of Al-Raqqah , heading towards the administrative triangle border of Al-Raqqah-Aleppo-Hama, until Kharba al-Bayda area and the highway of Al-Raqqah-Salamiyah, this advancement aims to expand their control and besiege members of the “Islamic State” organization in the remaining areas under its control in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo, which will put the “Islamic State” organization in front of two options, the first one is withdrawing from the southeastern countryside of Aleppo and thus loses its full presence in Aleppo province, and the second one is to fight till the end, where the second option may threaten the road of Aleppo – Khanasser – Ithriyah – peaceful, and if the regime forces were able to regain control of the area which is south of the areas they had advanced to starting from the countryside of Al-Raqqah to Kharba al-Bayda and down to Sabkha al-Jabboul, then they would have regained about 2500 km, and ended the presence of the “Islamic State” organization in Aleppo province.
