Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from several reliable sources that violent clashes are taking place in al-Batani neighborhood located north of al-Sinaa neighborhood at the eastern outskirts of Al-Raqqah city, and at the walls of the old city of Al-Raqqah, between the Syria Democratic Forces and the Syrian Elite Forces against the “Islamic State” organization, where reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the “Islamic State” organization surrounded about 20 fighters of the of the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation at the walls of the old city and in al-Batani neighborhood, after its members were able to turn around the Syrian Elite Forces and the Syria Democratic forces.

The reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory also that the “Islamic State” organization after it fortified its lines of contact with the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces by intensive planting of mines and widespread of snipers, and depending on the counter attacks, bombings and the explosive belts, the organization followed the tunnels tactic, by using already dug tunnels in the surrounding process, which would inflict casualties in the ranks of the attacking forces, while attempts continue to break the organization’s siege of the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces in the city.
