Regime forces start taking new areas between Shaer and Shomariyyeh Mountains and achieve advancement in the area

Homs province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the clashes continue between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them against members of the “Islamic State” organization in areas in the eastern countryside of Homs, where the clashes concentrated in the area between Dhour Ghana’em in west of Shaer Mountains and between Shomariyyeh Mountains area, after an attack started by the regime forces from al-Tafha area, and advanced to the west towards al-Tli’aa al-Sharqiyyah area, in an attempt by the regime forces to take control of more areas in Homs Desert in order to reduce the size of areas controlled by the organization, these clashes come in conjunction with intense shelling by the regime forces on the clash areas and on areas controlled by the organization and its positions, and information about human losses as a result of the shelling and clashes, also the clashes continue between both parties in areas in the road of Palmyra – Sukhnah, and in other areas in the vicinity of the al-Heel oilfield and in al-Sukhnah Desert.

The Syrian Observatory published hours ago tha  the violent clashes were concentrated in the last 48 hours in the deserts of al-Sukhnah and Palmyra and in the eastern countryside of Hama and near the administrative border of Deir Ezzor and Homs, where the clashes were accompanied by an exchange of heavy shelling between both parties and bombardment of warplanes, and the most violent clashes were concentrated in areas in the countryside of Salamiyah city, and other areas near the Syrian-Iraqi border. The bombing, exchange of shelling and the clashes between both parties caused more human losses in the ranks of both parties, where it has risen to at least 40 including at least 3 officers, 2 of them are Brigadier-General, the number of members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed in the last 48 hours in the shelling and the clashes in areas in the desert of Palmyra, the administrative border of Homs –  Deir Ezzor  and the eastern countryside of Hama, while it has risen to at least 29, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling and clashes that took place in these areas during the same period.
