Continued clashes in areas in the countryside of Homs, Palmyra and al-Sukhnah Desert

Homs Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: violent clashes are still ongoing between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against the “Islamic State” organization in areas in al-Hail oilfield in the eastern countryside of Homs, amid bombardment of warplanes on the clash areas, and shelling of the regime forces on the clash areas, and no information about human losses so far.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that the violent clashes were concentrated in the last 48 hours in the deserts of al-Sukhnah and Palmyra and in the eastern countryside of Hama and near the administrative border of Deir Ezzor and Homs, where the clashes were accompanied by an exchange of heavy shelling between both parties and bombardment of warplanes, and the most violent clashes were concentrated in areas in the countryside of Salamiyah city, and other areas near the Syrian-Iraqi border. The bombing, exchange of shelling and the clashes between both parties caused more human losses in the ranks of both parties, where it has risen to at least 40 including at least 3 officers, 2 of them are Brigadier-General, the number of members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed in the last 48 hours in the shelling and the clashes in areas in the desert of Palmyra, the administrative border of Homs –  Deir Ezzor  and the eastern countryside of Hama, while it has risen to at least 29, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling and clashes that took place in these areas during the same period.
