After heavy casualties… Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and Ahrar al-Sham Movement agree

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from several reliable sources that an agreement took place between the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, after the most intense and widespread fight between both parties in Idlib province and the north of the Syria, which broke out on the 18th of July 2017, where both parties agreed to a ceasefire and to release the detained by both parties, and also to evacuate Bab-Hawa border crossing with Turkey from the factions and hand it over to a civilian administration to oversee and run it.

This agreement came after bloody clashes and heavy human losses in Idlib province for 3 consecutive days, where it rose to 92, the number of fighters and civilians who were killed in this fight, they are: 77 members and fighters of the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, all of them were killed in executions, shootings and targeting and during clashes between both sides since the outbreak of the fighting, and 15 civilians at least and they are 4 children and 7 civilians including an activist, a man, a woman, a girl, another man and his child, in addition to 4 other persons were killed in the shelling, clashes and targeting between both parties since the beginning of their fight.

It worth mentioning that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham commented on the initiatives started by mediators and “Sharia” parties to stop fighting, saying: “These initiatives are the same as the previous ones, and have not reached the field to the required level”, and that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham did not start fighting anyone and its moves were “to repel an injustice and aggression we have been patience to for too long, and we tried many times to replace it with peace and agreements “. Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham demanded in their statement -of which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received a copy- an “initiative that ends the state of fragmentation and division and present a realistic project for a self-administration of the liberated areas, an administration that owns the decision of peace and war and takes the fateful decisions of the Syrian revolution at the field level, away of the conferences betting, political overcoming and fighting, which is only in the interest of the criminal regime and its allies”
