Anticipation of the entry of humanitarian aid to al-Marj area in the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta after being inspected

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a convoy of aid carrying food, medical and humanitarian supplies is expected to arrive in the next few hours. In the details obtained by the Syrian Observatory, a number of trucks provided from international parties are parked and getting searched in the regime-held area of al-Wafedin refugee camp which is adjacent to the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, in which members of the Russian forces exist, and the trucks are going to enter, after the completion of inspection of the convoy, to the area of al-Marj, which is controlled by the Jaish al-Islam in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus. This convoy of humanitarian aid comes in conjunction with an escalation of missile shelling by the regime forces on Ein Tarma area and the eastern outskirts of Damascus, where it rose to at least 25, the number of missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, launched by the regime forces, targeting areas in the adjacent Ein Tarma area and Jubar neighborhood, and no information about causalities caused by the shelling.

It is noteworthy that this is the third convoy to enter the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where the SOHR published on the 27th of July 2017 that the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that a humanitarian convoy had entered the eastern Ghouta, and the activists of the Syrian Observatory monitored the entry of 5 trucks loaded with medical materials to Douma city via the regime forces-controlled al-Wafedin camp where Russian forces are present, were the aid was handed over to the Red Crescent team in the city.  The SOHR published today that it is expected that a convoy of humanitarian aid enter the Eastern Ghouta besieged by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them since the beginning of 2013 after the entry of trucks loaded with humanitarian and medical aid to the outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta and the entry of aid to the areas held by Jaish al-Islam on Tuesday the 25th of July 2017.
