New advancement of the regime forces with aerial and missile shelling east of Hama

Hama province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: Violent battles are still taking place between the regime forces and their allied militiamen against ISIS in areas in the east and south of Athria and Salba area in the eastern countryside of Hama, amid a new advancement of the regime forces in Salba area and their control over Jub al-Marare’ hill, where the battles are accompanied by heavy air and missile bombardment, and confirmed information about human losses and injuries in the ranks of both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday night that violent battles continue between the regime forces and their allied militiamen on one hand and ISIS on the other in several areas in the eastern countryside of Hama in a continuous attempt by the regime forces to take a step ahead of ISIS and minimize their scope of control. Such attempts are conducted under the aerial cover of the Russian and the regime’ warplanes in addition to the intensive artillery shelling. As a result, the regime forces managed to make a new advancement, taking control of Twaynat village, located south of Ithriyah town. Such an advancement came few hours after the regime forces managed to advance into several kilometers south and southeast of Ithriyah, including into Al-Rouej area. The SOHR published few hours ago that violent battles are still ongoing in several areas in the eastern countryside of Hama between the regime forces and their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the “Islamic state” organization, where the most violent clashes are concentrated on the areas of Salba, al-Maboaja, and east of Athriya, and the regime forces are seeking to expand their control at the expense of the “Islamic State” organization with a heavy air cover by the regime’s and the Russian warplanes, where these warplanes targeted with tens of airstrikes on the clash areas and the areas controlled by the organization in the eastern countryside of Hama.

This intensive air and missile cover allowed the regime forces to achieve advances over the last 24 hours, where the regime forces managed to control several points and sites in Salba area, in addition to their control over al-Rawij area in southeast of Athriyah, and the regime forces advanced yesterday in points in Salba area. The battles that accompanied the aerial and missile bombardments left causalities and injured in the ranks of both sides.
