In al-Raqqa city about 48 hours of shelling by the international coalition and mines explosions left more than 40 casualties about half of them are children and women

The city of al-Raqqa is still witnessing daily shelling by the International Coalition’s warplanes which are supporting the ground forces in the operation of liberation of al-Raqqa, which used to be the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, causing every time casualties and injuries of innocent civilians, and they didn’t have any choice except for remaining in the city of al-Raqqa, where the areas controlled by the “Islamic State” organization are continue to shrink with each new military operation carried out by the SDF backed by the US special forces,  aiming at tighten the noose on the organization.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented on Wednesday the 16th of August 2017 the death of 17 civilians, including 5 children and 2 women, and the injury of about 30 others, as a result of the shelling of the International Coalition’s warplanes on areas in the neighborhoods of the Old City and other areas in the center of the city, rising to at least 38, including 10 children below the age of 18 and 4 women over the age of 18, the number of casualties who were killed during the past 48 hours since Monday the 14th of August 2017 until now.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of at least 10 persons including 2 children and 1 citizen woman, they were killed in the past 24 hours, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, the airstrikes also caused material damage and destruction to the property of citizens.
