In the first 24 hours of turning battle areas… the regime forces take control with the help of an intense shelling cover of 6 villages

The triangle of Jeb al-Jarrah – Shaer – Shomariyyeh in the eastern countryside of Homs is witnessing the continuation of clashes since about 24 hours ago, with varying degree of violence, between the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them against members of the “Islamic State” organization, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the clashes –which have begun on Thursday the 7th of September 2017– are accompanied by shelling by Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes, and escalated shelling by the regime forces, in an attempt by the regime forces to advance in the area to end the organization’s presence in this part of the countryside of Homs, which is about 50 km away of Homs city, and connected with the eastern countryside of Hama within the circle besieged for weeks by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces were able to advance in the area and control 3 new villages after their control yesterday over 3 other villages, reducing the size of areas controlled by the organization in the area, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of both parties to the fighting.
