The massacres of Euphrates River banks kill about 55 Syrian citizens and injure tens of others with varying degrees of severity

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that after the massacre which was carried by the Russian warplanes in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, the bombing turned to the western countryside, to bomb a target which is similar to the one that was bombed by the Russian warplanes in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and a camp near this target, in which reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that warplanes believed to be Russian targeted the river crossing at Hawayej Ziab Shamiyyah area which is located in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, which resulted in a massacre that left tens of injuries and wounded, it was confirmed the death of 11 persons of them and the injury and missing tens others, and the death toll is still likely to rise be because of the presence of injuries in serious cases, and the local sources confirmed to the SOHR that the air strikes targeted the water crossing between Hawayej Ziab and Al-Kharita between the eastern and the western banks of the river, the air strikes also targeted a camp of displaced people near Al-Kharita town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, which resulted in the death of 8 citizens including a female child and a citizen woman, and the injury of about 27 others with varying degrees of severity, which may cause more casualties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights observed since the night of the 9th of September 2107, that the Russian warplanes carried out intensive strikes on the water crossing area between Al-Bolail town in the western banks of the Euphrates River, and Al-Sabha and Al-Dahla areas on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, which are all located in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the strikes caused great damage in the ferry boats, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights didn’t document in the renewed strikes on Monday the 11th of September 2017, any casualties till now, while the SOHR documented the death of 34 citizens by the bombing on the area mentioned above, on Saturday – Sunday, including 9 children and 4 citizen women, as a result of the raids which destroyed more than 40 ferry boats in Al-Boleel area during the attempts by the citizens to escape to Al-Sabha and Al-Dahla areas on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, the bombing also resulted in the injury of tens others some of them are in serious cases, which may cause more casualties.

The massacre which was carried by the Russian warplanes, and which provided an aerial cover for the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them and which groups of their special forces are taking part side by side with the regime forces in the attack on Deir Ezzor city and in lifting the siege imposed on it, resulted in increasing the level of people resentment because of the bombing by the Russian warplanes which claimed that they came to “set citizens free”, and because of their targeting citizens during their displacement from the intensive shelling on the city of Deir Ezzor and its countryside, under the pretext of “fighting the Islamic State organization”, while Deir Ezzor city is witnessing a large movement of displacement by tens of families that fled from the city, with escalating the level of the military operation, and for the fear of besieging the area the regime forces which by advancing into Al-Jafra and Hwejat Sakr areas, which will enable the regime force, if they managed to advance into them and take the control of them, to impose a siege on the whole of Deir Ezzor city, and it is worth to mention that the citizens turned to use ferry boats to travel between the western and the eastern banks of the Euphrates River, after most of the bridges over the river had been shelled, by Russian warplanes as well as the International Coalition warplanes during the past months, in which some ferry boats are used to transport citizens while the others are used to transport vehicles between the two banks.
