After 6 days of carrying out a massacre in it… the regime forces control al-Kharita area and extend their control to about 20 km from the western banks of the Euphrates River

The western banks of the Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor are witnessing the continuation of clashes between the regime forces supported by the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the northwestern countryside of the city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces managed to achieve an important advancement and controlled the villages of Hwaij al-Bomas’aa and Hwaij Ziab al-Shamiyyah, in addition to the control of al-Kharita town, while the area is witnessing counterattacks by members of the organization, trying to recover these areas. The clashes are accompanied by shelling by the regime forces and bombed by Russian warplanes and regime’s warplanes on areas of the clash, amid confirmed information about the killing and injury of members of both parties, and with this advancement the regime forces expanded their control to about 20 km from the western banks of the Euphrates River, in the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

This advancement and controlling of al-Kharita comes 6 days after a massacre carried out in al-Kharita area at the Euphrates River’s west banks, where the airstrike targeted a camp for the internally displaced persons near al-Kharita town in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, which caused the death of 8 citizens including a child and a woman and injured over 27 others, also warplanes believed to be Russian targeted the river crossing at the area of Hwaij Ziab Shamiyyah in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor on the eastern banks of Euphrates River opposite to al-Kharita area, which caused a massacre that claimed the lives of tens of casualties and wounded tens of others, where the death of at least 11 one of them was confirmed, tens of others were injured and lost, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and supported by Russian air cover, are trying to advance and control the Hawijah Sakar area, which will allow the Russian forces and the regime forces to use it Deir Ezzor military base as a base for the ongoing military operation in Deir Ezzor province, and the attempt to control the area located in the outskirts of the Deir Ezzor area, come after the regime forces achieved significant  advancement yesterday and control the village of Jafra and the area of  Mri’eyyeh and parts of the town of al-Bo Omar, as the regime forces are trying to encircle and besiege the city of Deir Ezzor and then seek to advance in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor along the western bank of the river.
