The regime forces control Hawija Sakr and work with the Russians on rehabilitating the military base of Deir Ezzor and new groups arrives to the eastern bank of the Euphrates River

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that violent clashes are still taking place between the regime forces and their militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against members of ISIS in areas near the outskirts of the city of Deir Ezzor, and the SOHR learned that the regime forces managed to advance and control Hawija Sakr, amid heavy shelling of the regime forces on positions of the organization and in the vicinity of the area, in conjunction with airstrikes of Russian and the regime warplanes and helicopters on the organization-held areas in the outskirts and the vicinity of the city after they managed and controlled the whole area of Hawija Sakr, which the regime forces in the mid of May 2015, after a violent attack of ISIS in which they managed to advance and control of Hawija Sakr in the outskirts of Deir Ezzor.
The Eastern banks opposite to Deir Ezzor military base and Deir Ezzor city amid the continued shelling of the regime forces’ warplanes and the Russian warplanes, in conjunction with the information obtained by the SOHR that scouting forces of the regime forces crossed the Euphrates River to the eastern bank of it which is opposite Deir Ezzor city under a Russian cover, while the regime and the Russian forces are working on rehabilitating the military base of Deir Ezzor in order to use it in the ongoing military operations in Deir Ezzor province, after they managed to secure it and expel the organization out of it. The base stopped working and the warplanes were not able to take off or land in it since the organization controlled al-Tharda Mountain a year ago in the mid of September 2016, following airstrikes by the international coalition on the regime forces stationed on al-Tharda Mountain, which killed more than 90 members of the regime forces and injured others, and the military base of Deir Ezzor has been besieged since the beginning of 2017, while it was targeted by repel and Islamic factions and ISIS during the past 4 years.
The SOHR published yesterday that reliable sources asserted to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the regime forces backed by their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and supported by Russian air cover, are trying to advance and control the Hawijah Sakar area, which will allow the Russian forces and the regime forces to use it Deir Ezzor military base as a base for the ongoing military operation in Deir Ezzor province, and the attempt to control the area located in the outskirts of the Deir Ezzor area, come after the regime forces achieved significant advancement yesterday and control the village of Jafra and the area of ​​Marai’yah and parts of the town of al-Bu Ommar, as the regime forces are trying to encircle and besiege the city of Deir Ezzor and then seek to advance in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor along the western bank of the river.
