By Russian ground and air support, the regime forces restore 35 cities, towns and villages with an area of more than 1300 square kilometers in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa

The regime forces backed by Russian forces, Russian air force and their warplanes,  and supported by Russian-armed and trained tribes forces and their allied militiamen continue their military operations in the province of Deir Ezzor after ending on Saturday the 23rd of September 2017 the presence of the ISIS in the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa, which is adjacent to the northwest of Deir Ezzor. The regime forces are seeking to achieve great advancement so as to expand its control in the province and ending the presence of ISIS as a dominant organization.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that these military operations in the northwestern and eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor and the eastern banks of the Euphrates River and the military operations in the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa on the southern and western banks of the Euphrates River enabled the regime forces to achieve great advancement, and the regime forces managed, since the 14th of September 2017, the date of the start of the operations of the regime forces in the countryside of Deir Ezzor after controlling the area of Baghilia, until today the 24th of September 2017, to control about 35 cities, towns and villages in the eastern countryside of al-Raqqa and the northwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor and the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The rapid advancement of the regime forces allowed them to expand their areas of control. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored, during the 10 days of military operations, that the regime forces managed to control more than 1300 square kilometers from the area of the countryside of Deir Ezzor and al-Raqqa, while the control of the regime forces expanded along the western and southern banks of the Euphrates River in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and al-Raqqa to an area of about 150 km, while the Syrian Observatory monitored the continuity of the consecutive operations on the banks of the Euphrates in an attempt of the regime forces to advance in more places, villages and areas and control the entire eastern banks of the Euphrates River which is opposite to Deir Ezzor city and its military base.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 14th of September that  the regime forces were able to achieve advancement in the area and controlled vast parts of Al-Bogeleyyah area in the northwest of Deir Ezzor city, amid continued violent clashes in a quest by the regime Forces to take control over the entire area, after they have taken in the last 24 hours over al-Rowwad residences and Al-Jazeera Private University, and the clashes are accompanied by heavy and intense shelling by the regime forces, also clashes are taking place east of the city in an effort to secure Deir Ezzor airbase and keep the organization away of the airbase in order to be used in the upcoming military operations in the countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The regime forces lost Al-Bogeleyyah area at the beginning of 2016, after a sudden and violent attack carried out by the organization on the 16th of January 2016, where the Syrian Observatory documented back then that at least 120 members and officers of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them were killed, 40 of them at least were executed in al-Bogeleyyah area, also 70 members of the “Islamic State” organization were killed and at least 28 of them detonated themselves up in booby trapped vehicles or explosive belts, also Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented back then the death of at least 135 persons and members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them, where the Observatory was informed by several reliable sources that among the 135 who were killed and executed, there are at least 50 members from the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed and executed during the “Islamic state” attack on Al-Bogeleyyah area up to the outskirts of al-Jura area and detonating booby trapped vehicles and carrying out executions, in addition to the presence of 85 persons from the families of the members of NDF, national army and Baathists from the city, while 42 member from the “Islamic State” organization (including 12 infiltrators and members who blew themselves up with explosive belts in the same attack) were killed, where back then the “Islamic State” organization kidnapped about 400 persons of civilians and family members of the regime forces, but later the “Islamic State” organization released about 250 of them.
