106 casualties at least of the regime forces and the non-Syrian forces allied with them, including 20 members of the Lebanese nationalities during 48 hours of violent attacks in the desert by the “Islamic State” organization

The Syrian Desert has witnessed since the 28th of September 2017, continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces backed by militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities on one hand, and the members of the “Islamic State” organization on the other, in areas in Deir Ezzor and Homs deserts, and these attacks extended and reached a distance of about 300 km away from the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city to the vicinity of Al-Qaryatayn city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that groups of ISIS carried out counter attacks targeted Al-Qaryatayn city, after groups managed to flee to the area in the south-eastern countryside of Homs, and clash against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, and these violent attacks come as a part of the counter attacks which the organization is carrying out in areas in the Syrian Desert, after the consecutive losses, defeats and collapse which the organization witnessed in the provinces of Al-Raqqah, Aleppo, Homs, Hama and Deir Ezzor during the past 4 months.

The violent clashes and the explosions as well as the violent and intensive shelling and the exchange of targeting, resulted in the death and injury of more of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in which the number of the members of the regime forces of who were killed during these violent clashes which are extended from the vicinity of Deir Ezzor city and its western desert to Al-Qaryatayn city in the south-eastern countryside of Homs, has increased to 160 casualties at least including 46 members at least of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities including 20 members at least of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the attacks also resulted in the capture of members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, as well as the death of more members of the organization, in which the casualties in its ranks reached 70 members some of them blew themselves up by using suicidal belts and others blew themselves up by booby trapped cars, while the regime forces are seeking to advance and retake the control on the positions they lost in Homs and Deir Ezzor provinces, violent clashes are also took place in Hmimeh area in the north-eastern desert of Homs on the administrative border with the south-eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, as a result of violent attack by the organization on this area, in an attempt to advance in this area.

And on the 10th of September 2017, the regime forces managed to open the main road coming from Damascus, and the operation of lifting the siege was carried out on 3 stages the first was to lift the siege on the Brigade 137, then lifting the siege of Deir Ezzor Military Airport and the bloc of neighborhoods related to it, and the third stage was to reach the western entrance of Deir Ezzor city at the area of Panorama area after taking the control of Damascus – Deir Ezzor road.
