After killing most of their leaders in military operation in Deir Ezzor, the regime forces assign Suhail Al-Hasan to end the presence of ISIS in the city

ISIS continue slapping the regime forces in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, through carrying out repel attacks and deprives the regime forces and their supporters from the ecstasy of “victory” and forcing them to withdraw and causing human losses in their ranks, last of which was what happened yesterday night as ISIS expelled the regime forces from parts of Thepan town on the eastern banks opposite to Al-Mayadeen city across the Euphrates river, and forced them to withdraw from the outskirts and the vicinity of Al-Omar oilfield and from pasts of Khesham town. With all these defeats of the regime forces, the regime forces moved the battles to an area, where they can find a “moral victory”, through planning to continue the control over the city of Deir Ezzor, as Russian warplanes escalated airstrikes on areas in the city, and targeted Hawija Sakr and the neighborhoods of Al-Senaa and Al-Hawiqa.

With this diversion of the path of the battle, the aforementioned defeats aimed at depriving the regime forces of their victory in the eastern and western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and these defeats came after the death of 2 promienet commander in the military operation in the city of Deir Ezzor, Essam Zahr Al-Din, the brigadier in the regime forces, who was known for legislating the civil war in Syria and was killed on the 18th of October 2017, and after about 48 hours, this was followed by the death of his successor, who is assigned to lead the military operations in the city after Zahr Al-Din, Colonel Wael Zayzafon. Hence, the regime forces assigned Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan, known as the “Tiger”, who leads the military operation in the province of Deir Ezzor, to completely control the whole city of Deir Ezzor, in which the regime forces reduced the areas controlled by ISIS and managed to control about 92% of the city, which is completely besieged by the regime forces. The expansion of the scope of control came after the regime forces managed to advance inside the city of Deir Ezzor during the past day, and control the neighborhoods of Al-Kanamat, Al-Khasarat, Old airport, half of Hawija Katea, with a cover of heavy and violent shelling.

The regime forces have officially appointed Ghassan Tarraf, who comes from Banyas coastal city, as a successor to Brig. Essam Zahr Al-Din after he was killed in the city, where Tarraf was appointed as a commander of Brigade 104 Republican Guards, which are assigned to protect the military base of Deir Ezzor.
