The “Islamic State” organization withdraws from Al-Bokamal city- its largest stronghold in Syria- and retreats to the areas remaining under its control in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces managed to advance in Al-Bokamal city on the border with Iraq, and managed to impose their full control over the city, which was the largest stronghold of ISIS in Syria, and this control came after the remaining members of the organization withdrew from the city, to its controlled areas remaining in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, after a corridor was opened for them by the gunmen loyal to the regime forces, while reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the regime forces started to sweep the city of mines and explosive devices which were planted by the organization earlier in the city.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that it has received information from reliable sources about that negotiations are taking place between the gunmen loyal to the regime forces and the member of the organization, in order to open a corridor for the members of the organization remaining in the city, to withdraw through it to its controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the SOHR also published this morning, that the regime forces managed to reach the outskirts of Al-Sokkariyeh village west of Al-Bokamal and adjacent the city, and which includes Al-Hamdan Airbase which the regime forces turned into a landing field for helicopters with the start of the Syrian revolution.

 

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published at midnight of Wednesday – Thursday that the city of al-Bokamal is witnessing violent explosions caused by the intense shelling by the gunmen loyal to the regime and by the regime forces on areas in the city, which is the largest remaining stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes broke out between the gunmen loyal to the regime of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities, and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces against members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in the southern and western parts of Bokamal city, where fighters loyal to the regime managed to break into the city and control parts of it, amid exchange of targeting between both parties, where the forces that stormed the city by escalating their shelling they aim to force the “Islamic State” organization to withdraw from the city, which is located near the Syrian-Iraqi border at the western banks of Euphrates River, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published hours ago that the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces entered the Syrian territory and went to fight with the forces loyal to the Syrian regime of non-Syrian nationalities, and they had besieged Bokamal city, the last stronghold of the “Islamic State “organization in the Syrian territory from the south side and east side.
