The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Iranian Guards retreat from the vicinity of Al-Bokamal and wait for the arrival of the regime forces led by Suheil al-Hassan from Al-Mayadin front to start a new attack

The military operations is continuing within the clashes through which the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them aim to take the control of Al-Bokamal city, which is the last city controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, and it is also the largest remaining stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization in the Syrian territory, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the regime forces are trying to achieve further advancement adjacent the Euphrates River, after they managed during the past hours of the Sunday night the 12th of November 2017, to achieve advancement started from Al-Mayadin desert, until they reached a distance of less than 35 km to the west of Al-Bokamal, and the regime forces became at the outskirts of the last oilfield controlled by the organization in Syria.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned from reliable sources that the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Iranian Guards as well as the regime forces withdrew from the vicinity of Al-Bokamal city, after they were expelled from the city by the organization, and the backed to the place where they retreated and fortified near the city, waiting for arriving the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities led by the Brigadier in the regime forces, Suhail Al-Hassan, known as the “Tiger”, in order to start a new attack, in an attempt to end the presence of the organization in Al-Bokamal city, and take the control of the city which the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Iranian Guards were expelled from, and Al-Bokamal area as well as areas in its countryside are witnessing the continuation of targeting by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them from time to time, to the controlled areas of the organization and its positions.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday that in an indirect way, the regime forces announce the failure of non-Syrian militiamen who belong to the Iraqi PMF, Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, to achieve a “permanent victory” in Al-Bukamal city, through controlling it, therefore, they continue their operation from a new direction after the failure of the aforementioned forces to advance and storm into the city and control it or control parts of it. The SOHR monitored during the past hours on Sunday the 12th of November 2017, the regime forces and their allied militiamen of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, led by Brigadier in the regime forces Suhail Al-Hassan, and backed by the tribal militiamen, starting their violent attack coming from Al-Mayadeen areas on the western outskirts of the Euphrates River towards Al-Bukamal city, which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, in the eastern part of Deir Ezzor province. The SOHR learned that the regime forces managed to achieve strategic and big advancement through advancing to tens of square kilometers and reach an area of about 25 km west of Al-Bukamal city, which is the largest stronghold remained for ISIS in Syria, as the SOHR monitored that the regime forces managed to advance within the desert in parallel to the western banks of the Euphrates River and became on the outskirts of the last oilfield controlled by ISIS in the Syrian territory, and if the regime forces managed to continue advancing, they will be able to reach in the upcoming day the city of Al-Bukamal, while the regime forces are working on fortifying the areas they advanced to, in order to repel any future repel attacks by ISIS.

Also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented yesterday the death of 50 citizens at least in 36 hours of aerial and artillery shelling since the 10th of November 2017 until the dawn of today the 12th of Sunday of the same month, and among the casualties there are 20 children under the age of eighteen and 6 citizens over the age of eighteen, and the casualties were 25 civilians including 15 children and 4 women were killed in shelling the sources said its source was the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, which targeted a camp area of displaced people of Bokamal in al-Sekkariyyeh area, and 5 casualties including 2 children and 2 women wert killed in bombing on the river crossing of al-Susah, and 6 people were killed in shelling on al-Ramadi river crossing, and 14 people including 3 children were killed in raids on al-Safafiyyah camp area and villages, and areas of al-Abbas, al-Marashdah, Sbikhan and Abu Hammam, also the aerial bombardment and artillery shelling have wounded tens of others, which may raise the death toll where some people are in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing persons whose fate is unknown, and these successive massacres come as a retaliation by the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities for their loss of al-Bokamal city, hours after controlling it, as a result of an offensive and violent attack by the “Islamic State” organization, where the organization inflected large number of casualties in the ranks of the loyal gunmen of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
