After the death of more than 110 of them and with the leadership of Qasem Soleimani who crossed the land border with Iraq…the regime forces and their allies hold their control on Al-Bokamal city and its vicinity

The regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian and Asian nationalities, completed to hold their control over Al-Bokamal city, which is near the Syrian – Iraqi border, west of the Euphrates River, 24 hours after they managed to expel the “Islamic State” organization from the last city of it in Syria, which was the largest remaining stronghold of the organization in the Syrian territory, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that taking the control of Al-Bokamal city took place with the participation of the regime forces led by the leader of Al-Quds Corps of the Revolutionary Iranian Guards- General Qasem Soleimani, who crossed the Syrian  – Iraqi land border, coming from the Iraqi territory.

The second battle of Al-Bokamal city, which finished with expelling ISIS from the city, and taking the control of it by the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities, started on Thursday the 16th of November 2017, and lasted until they took the control of the entire city yesterday, and then they held their control over it today, after sweeping the city and ensuring that it is free of ISIS members, while the violent clashes killed tens of members in the ranks of the both parties, and injured tens others with varying severity, in which the number of casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them who were killed in the second battle of Al-Bokamal city which started last Thursday, has increased to 82 members at least, including 28 Syrian members, and 15 members of the Lebanese Hezbollah, while the rest members are of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces and the Revolutionary Iranian Guards including a prominent officer in the Revolutionary Iranian Guards, while tens others were injured with varying degrees of severity, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights received confirmed information about the death of at least 30 others of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces in clashes in the vicinity of Al-Bokamal city, while there are information about other members of who were killed in the same clashes, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of more than 70 members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including 14 fighters at least detonated themselves by explosive belts and booby trapped vehicles during the clashes took place in city, and tens of members were injured with varying degrees of severity during these clashes.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Observatory published yesterday that it monitored that the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian nationality, the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Iraqi Nujabaa Movement and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard start sweeping al-Bokamal city which they managed to control after the withdrawal of the remaining members of the “Islamic State” organization from the last city they used to control in Syria, this control came after violent clashes that killed and injured tens of both parties during the past 3 days, where the regime forces were able to enter the city on Thursday the 16th of November 2017; after the organization’s expel of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, by counterattacks that targeted them inside the city.
