“Jazeera Storm” Operation Forces advance in the east bank of Euphrates River within their operation to end the presence of ISIS in the area

Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the International Coalition against the “Islamic State” organization in areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, the clashes are concentrated in the areas of al-Keshkiyah and Abu Hamam and at the outskirts of Hajin city located on the eastern banks of Euphrates River, where the Syrian Observatory monitored the “Islamic State” organization advancing and controlling large portions of Abu Hamam town, in conjunction with its advancement in al-Keshkiyah area and its control over most of Hawi area near Hajin, and by advancing the Syria Democratic Forces who lead the “Jazeera Storm” Operation are trying to end the organization’s control in the east bank of Euphrates River, which will enable them to control this bank entirely, and the clashes are accompanied by intense exchange of shelling between both parties, amid constant displacement movement of the families who live in the “Islamic State” organization’s controlled areas towards areas far of the clashes.

The Observatory published yesterday that the “Jazeera Storm” Operation Forces opened a new front in these areas and attacked ISIS from it, so as to cut the supply line of ISIS to the areas of Al-Keshkiyah, Abu Hamam and Gharanij, this fighting and shelling which started again in early December 2017, due to a new attack carried out by the forces of “Al-Jazeera Storm” Operation, resulted in a new displacement towards the SDF-held areas and other areas far from the violent shelling and killing, and the SOHR monitored that the displaced people set up camps where they can stay until the end of the fighting or the control of the organization over their areas and towns- from which they have fled- ends, in which the organization is still imposing its control over 10 towns and villages in the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, including Sha’afah, al-Kashkiyyeh, Abu Hamam, Gharanij, Al-Bahra, Hajin, Abu Hasan, al-Shafa, al-Susah, Al-Baghuz, Al-Bobadran and their outskirts.
