The Syrian Observatory For Human Rights

The regime forces achieve advancement in their counter attack to lift the siege imposed on the Vehicle Department in the Eastern Ghouta under a cover of intensive aerial and ground shelling

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus is witnessing explosions rocked towns and cities in it, caused by renewing  the artillery and rocket shelling on several areas in it, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by the regime forces which targeted Hamouriyah and Arbin cities, in conjunction with shilling on areas in Douma city, and the warplanes targeted areas in Arbin city by 3 raids, while areas in Misraba were shelled by the regime forces which injured 4 citizens including a child girl and a citizen woman, while the regime forces fired 23 missiles at least believed to be ground-to-ground, on areas in Harasta city and its vicinity, in conjunction with 25 raids targeted areas in Harasta city and the Vehicle Department.

This renewed shelling coincides with ongoing violent clashes between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the rebel and Islamic factions, as a result of the violent and counter attack by the regime forces which managed to achieve advancement in the area near the governorate building, while they are seeking to achieve further advancement at the expense of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps, to open a corridor to the Vehicle Department enables them to completely lift the siege imposed on it, after the factions besieged it during their attack which completed today its first week, and the fighting is accompanied by intensive aerial and artillery shelling and exchange of targeting in the clash areas between the both parties.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published few hours ago, that the violent and ongoing fighting and the continuous shelling, caused more casualties in the ranks of the both parties, in which it rose to at least 44, the number of the members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen including 6 officers at least including 4 brigadiers, while it rose to 47, the number of fighters of the factions who were killed in the same clashes, also tens of both parties were injured with varying severity, while 10 members at least of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them were captured during the fighting and the hit-and-run clashes.
