In a semi-conclusive death toll…the largest Syrian massacre since 53 days ago leaves 80 civilian casualties in the besieged Eastern Ghouta about half of them are children and women

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the most bloody day in Syria in the latest few weeks, is still continuing to put an end to the lives of Syrian citizens who are besieged in Ghouta in the east of the capital Damascus, and it ended by silence which lasted until the regime forces returned to interrupt this silence by targeting Al-Nashabiyah town in Al-Marj area controlled by Jaysh Al-Islam, by 5 shells fired this morning, which caused material damage, without information about casualties, while the death of more citizens affected by the injury they had, resulted in increasing the number of the civilian casualties who were killed yesterday the 6th of February 2018, where it has increased to 80 persons at leas including 19 children and 20 citizen women, the number of the casualties who were killed yesterday, and the casualties are: 31 citizens including 8 children and 9 citizen women who were killed in a massacre carried out by warplanes in Douma city, the stronghold of Jaysh Al-Islam, 13 citizens including 4 children and 4 citizen women who were killed in a massacre carried out by warplanes in Arbin city, 7 citizens including a child were killed in a massacre carried out in Kafr Batna town by bombardment, 7 citizens including a child and 3 citizen women were killed in airstrikes on areas in Zamalka city, 5 citizens including 2 children and a woman were killed in bombardment on Mesraba town, 5 citizens including a child and a citizen woman were killed in raids on Hamouriyah city, 4 citizens including a child and a citizen woman were killed in raids on areas in Madyara, , 4 citizens including a woman killed by bombardment by warplanes on areas in Saqba city, 3 citizens was killed in an airstrike which targeted Hazza town, and a child was killed in the raids by warplanes on Harasta city, the bombardment also resulted in the injury of 165 citizens at least with varying severity, including tens of children and citizen women, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries and the presence of missing people under the rubble of the destruction caused by the bombardment on the Eastern Ghouta.

 

This massacre is the largest massacre in Syria since 53 days ago, after the massacre of the market of Atarib town in the western countryside of Aleppo, which resulted at that time in the death of 83 persons including 5 children including 4 brothers, 8 citizen women, 7 prisoners and 13 members of the liberated police, who were killed in bombardment by the warplanes on the market of the town which resulted in great material damage to the market and to the property of citizens in this town, and the bombardment at that time resulted in the fall of tens of wounded.

 

And with the continuation of killing against the citizens besieged in the Eastern Ghouta, the death toll continues to increase, where it has increased to 369 citizens including 91 children and 68 citizen women, who have been killed since the 29th of December 2017, as a result of targeting the Eastern Ghouta by hundreds of raids and hundreds of artillery and rocket strikes, and the casualties are 249 citizens including 70 children, 56 citizen women and a male nurse, they were killed in raids by the warplanes on areas in Harasta city controlled by the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and raids on Madyara town as well as the cities of Saqba, Hamouriyah, Douma and Arbin, and 120 citizens including 21 children and 12 citizen women and 2 male nurses were killed by artillery and rocket shelling targeted areas in Beit Sawa town, the cities of Harasta, Hamuriya, Douma and Arbin as well as the towns of Kafr Batna, Mesraba, Al-Nashabiyah, Otaya and Jisrayn.
