87 days of escalation on the capital Damascus and its vicinity, claim 87 lives and injure about 490 others
Successive explosions shook areas in the center of the capital Damascus and other places in its suburbs, caused by the fall of shells, where the Syrian Observatory for Human rights monitored the fall of shells on areas in al-Khodr neighborhood and al-Qeshleh in Bab Tuma and Zablatani and Kassa’a and other places in al-Abbasiyyin area and the Old Damascus, which wounded about 6 people, also shells landed on places in al-Dwel’a area at the outskirts of the capital, in conjunction with the fall of shells on areas in Jaramana Suburb, where the shells killed a person in al-Dwel’a and 2 others in Jaramana, and injured about 10 others, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation.
Thus, it has increased to 87 including 12 children and 12 women, the number of those who were killed as result of the fall of shells and have been documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights since this escalation started on the 16th of November 2017, while it has increased to more than 481 persons who were injured in these daily targeting, including tens of children and citizen women, some of whom have seriously injured and have permanent disability, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored the continuation of the poor health condition of some of the injured people, which may raise the death toll, in which the shells have targeted since the 16th of November 2017, the areas of Al-Dwel’a, Al-Sawika, Al-Fahama Khalid bin al-Walid Street, and other areas in Old Damascus, as well as places in Al-Zablatany, Al-Qassaa, Bab Touma, Al-Mujtahed, al-Fayhaa, Al-Abasyeen, Al-Mayadeen, Seba’ Baharat, Aish Al-Warawar, Jermana, Dahyat Al-Assad, Teshereen Military Hospital and other places in the center of the capital, which caused material damage to the property of the citizens, buildings and shops in the places where these shells had fallen.
