About 70 citizens and fighters were killed and injured during 4 days of escalating the assassinations in Idlib province which raged the resentment of the citizens

Idlib province witnesses tension accompanied by resentment and alertness, as a result of escalating the assassination against the fighters and the military commanders in the countryside of the province, which killed and injured tens during the past 4 days, in the countryside of the province, through targeting them by explosive devices, shooting and grenades, which targeted headquarters, checkpoints, vehicles and members, most of whom were of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, which impose its control over large spaces of Idlib province.

 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that a vehicle was targeted this morning, Tuesday the 13th of February 2018, belongs to Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on the road between Muhambal and Jisr Al-Shughur, which resulted in the death of 2 members who were traveling in it, and information about injuries, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored yesterday targeting to a group of fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham gathered at a police station belongs to it in Maarrat Misrin town, which resulted in the death of 9 members at least and others have seriously wounded, while 2 members of the executive power were killed after being targeted by unidentified gunmen by their machine guns to a checkpoint of the executive power in Ariha area, while an explosive device planted in a motorbike which targeted a vehicle, resulted in the death of as a citizen woman and 2 fighters were traveling in a vehicle near Damascus – Aleppo Highway in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib, while another IED exploded, in a vehicle on Ariha – Al-Mastumah road south of Idlib, which resulted in the death of a local commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, and a third IED also exploded on the road between Maar Shamarin and Maarrat Al-Nu’man in the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man, while a landmine exploded in a vehicle on the road between Maarat Hermeh and Maar Zita, and no information was reported about injuries, while Idlib city witnessed attacks by unidentified gunmen, took place in 3 separate rounds on Saturday evening, the 10th of February 2018, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that unknown gunmen who were in a car shot 3 young men in the southern neighbourhood of the city and one of them was killed, also unidentified gunmen threw a grenade at a house in Khan Shaykhun city, also unknown persons targeted by an IED a car belongs to a faction in the city itself, which caused material damage, while 7 persons including a citizen woman and 3 citizens were killed as a result of detonating an explosive device at Al-Sa’aa roundabout on the 10th of February 2018, while the assassinations returned to the scene with the first mass assassination against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on the 9th of February 2018, unknown gunmen targeted a checkpoint a of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham at Ya’qubiyah Junction in the northern countryside of Jisr Al-Shughur city, where intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the targeting was carried out using automatic weapons and grenades, which caused human losses in the ranks of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, where at least 5 members were killed and others were injured in the targeting, preceded by targeting to a house inhabited by Uzbek fighters in Al-Dahab area in Jisr al-Shughur countryside, where those who were targeted were chased, and weapons and ammunition were found in the targeted area without being able to catch them.

 

These assassinations which backed to the scene, and which killed during 4 days, 29 persons including 5 citizens including 2 women, while the reset are fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, and injured more than 40 others, and more than half of which were carried out during the past 24 hours, in which their pace increased with the arrival of the “Islamic State” organization to the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, through a corridor granted by the regime forces, in return for the withdrawal of the organization from the southern countryside of Aleppo and the north-eastern countryside of Hama, but local sources were divided in the terms of their suggestions about the reasons of the assassinations, their increased pace and the perpetrators of such operations, where some ruled out the involvement of the organization, because there were no signs indicate that the organization carried out them, as the previous operations it carried out inside Idlib, although other sources confirmed that persons were arrested on charge of being “sleeper cells” for the “Islamic State” organization, while they were planting an explosive device and mines in Idlib countryside, while other sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the operations took the direction of “internal filtration” among the factions operating in Idlib, and the reliable sources confirmed that dead bodies were found in Horsh Bsanqul and in Jisr Al-Shughur countryside, of citizens or members who were killed and dumped in this area, which raged the resentment of the citizens against such crimes and the inability of the factions operating in Idlib to control these actions or even arrest the perpetrators.
