More civilian causalities by the Turkish shelling on Afrin area with ongoing battles and advancement by the Turkish forces and the Syrian opposition factions

The death toll is still increasing in Afrin area as a result of ongoing shelling by the Turkish forces targeting places in area, where it rose 3 including a child and a woman, the number of martyrs, who were killed in Turkish shelling on Afrin area, which has increased before implementing the agreement reached between the regime forces and the Kurdish forces, where a child was killed in Turkish shelling on Bastota village south of Afrin city, while a man and a citizen were killed in the shelling which targeted their houses on the road linking between Jandyras and Afrin, while the death toll is still expected to increase due to the presence of injured people in serious conditions.

While the clashes are still ongoing between the Turkish forces backed by their rebel and Islamic factions against the YPG and the Self-Defense Forces in areas in the northern and western countryside of Afrin, where the Turkish forces are trying to achieve more advancement before the implementation of the agreement of the regime forces and the Kurdish forces, which will allow the regime forces to be deployed in Afrin area and the contact lines with “Olive Branch” Operation Forces, and the Turkish forces and the factions managed to advance in more areas in Jandayras district in the southwestern countryside of Afrin.

the SOHR learned that the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation managed to achieve important advancement and they took the control of Al-Nabi Hori Castle and other positions in the area, where only one area (Arab Wayran area) remained for the Turkish forces to unite the areas where they advanced in the north and north-east of Afrin, and if the Turkish forces managed to control this area, then,  they will impose their control over about 50 km of the northern border line of Afrin, from the area of Jabal Barsaya to the area of Meidan Ekbis in Turkey – Afrin – Iskenderun Border Triangle, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published this afternoon that the logistic preparations are still continuing by the regime forces on one hand, and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) on the other, preparing for the movement of the regime forces towards Afrin, and the deployment of the border guards of the regime forces in the contact areas between the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation and the Kurdish forces in Afrin area, located in the north-western section, within implementation of the agreement reached by the Kurdish forces and the regime forces during the past 24 hours.
