After 5 days of massacres which left about 2550 civilian casualties and wounded…the escalation continues on the Eastern Ghouta by the regime and its allies

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the warplanes carried out his morning, several raids on areas in Hamouriyah city and Zamalka town in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, while the regime forces also shelled this morning, places in Douma city, which resulted in the fall of wounded, while the warplanes targeted areas in Arbin city after the midnight of Thursday – Friday, in conjunction with the continuation of artillery and rocket shelling on the cities and towns of the Eastern Ghouta, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night, that the regime forces continue to intensively launch hundreds of rocket shells on the eastern Ghouta, where the Syrian Observatory monitored a continuous targeting by the regime forces with more than 340 shells and missiles in 2 hours, the shelling targeted areas in the towns and cities of Hamuriya, Saqba, KafrBatna, Mesraba, Ein Tarma and Beit Sawa, which caused the fall of injuries and the death of one person in Mesraba, also warplanes renewed the bombardment and carried out 2 raids on areas in Saqba city and 2 other raids on places in Hamuriya town.

Raising to 417 including 96 children and 61 women, the number of martyrs killed by the aerial and ground shelling since Sunday evening the 18th of February 2018, and the casualties are: 60 citizens including 8 children and 7 citizen women who were killed in bombardment by warplanes on areas in Aftries town and Douma city, 85 citizens including 20 children and 12 women, were killed on Wednesday in bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on Kafr Batna town and airstrikes on Jesrin town and raids on Saqba, 128 citizens including 29 children and 16 women were killed on Tuesday, in the shelling on the areas of Nashabiyah, Otaya, Arbin, Zamalka Mesraba, Hamuriya, Saqba and Ash’ari, 127 citizens including 34 children and 23 women were killed on Monday, in the aerial and ground bombardment on Hamuriya, Beit Sawa and Saqba, Douma , Mesraba, Otaya, Nashabiyah, Zamalka, Aftries, KafrBatna, Al-Shifonyyah and Jesrin, 17 citizens including 5 children and 3 women were killed on the evening of Sunday, in aerial, missile and artillery bombardments on Saqba, Mesraba, Otaya and Ashari area.

And the renewed bombardment resulted in increasing the number of wounded to more than 2116 civilians, while there are tens of missing people under the rubble caused by the rocket, artillery and aerial shelling on the cities and town in the Eastern Ghouta, which may increase the death toll, in addition to the presence of a large number of injuries, some of them have serious injuries, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the bombardment of the warplanes and helicopters as well as the intensive shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, resulted in getting 10 hospitals and medical points out of service as a result of their targeting in Saqba, Douma, Beit Sawa, Jesrin, Arbin and other areas in the Eastern Ghouta, to decrease the ability of medical capacity even more, and crowd the places with the wounded who flock as a result of heavy and ongoing shelling by the regime forces, led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan, which paves the way for a wide military operation in the Eastern Ghouta, through which the regime forces aim to regain the control of it.
