The warplanes bomb the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus before the end of Putin’s truce and the death of more citizens raises the death toll to 725 civilian casualties including about 275 children and women

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out several raids targeting areas in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, just before the end of Putin’s “humanitarian” truce today, where the warplanes targeted areas in the cities of Hamouriyah and Harasta in conjunction with raids preceded them on areas in Al-Ash’ari and Beit Sawa, while the escalation of the death of more citizens and the extraction of bodies from the rubble of destruction which has not almost stopped for 19 consecutive hours, starts with the end of Putin’s “humanitarian” truce, and ends with putting the truce into effect at 9 am every day, which lasts for 5 consecutive hours, and the Syrian Observatory monitored the death of more citizens in the shelling which took place today, Monday, and the shelling which targeted the Eastern Ghouta yesterday, Sunday, where it has increased to 11, the number of casualties whose death was documented by the SOHR today in the morning shelling on Hazza, Zamalka, Harasta, Saqba and Al-Ash’ari, while it has increased to 11 including 5 children and 5 citizen women, the number of casualties who have been killed in the bombardment which targeted Jisryan town yesterday, raising to 724, the number of Syrian civilians who were killed in the Eastern Ghouta, including 170 children and 103 women, who have been killed by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, and the shelling during this period which completed 2 weeks since it started, resulted in the injury of more than 3700 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 192 casualties including 33 children and 27 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta.

And the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the bombardment of the warplanes and helicopters as well as the intensive shelling on the Eastern Ghouta, resulted in getting 10 hospitals and medical points out of service as a result of their targeting in Saqba, Douma, Beit Sawa, Jesrin, Arbin and other areas in the Eastern Ghouta, to decrease the ability of medical capacity even more, and crowd the places with the wounded who flock as a result of heavy and ongoing shelling by the regime forces, led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan.

In the same context, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored ongoing violent clashes between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities led by the Brigadier Suhail Al-Hassan and Russian military advisers, against Jaysh Al-Islam, in areas in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where the clashes are concentrated in Al-Rihan area, where the regime forces advanced, and other areas in Mesraba Farms and Al-Ash’ari farms, and the regime forces are seeking to reach the Vehicle Department and divide the Eastern Ghouta into 2 sections, where they manage to scatter the power of the factions and clamp down on them in the Eastern Ghouta, where the factions lost until now more than 35% of their controlled area, after violent clashes started by the regime forces on the 25th of February 2018, and reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Russian forces participate with soldiers, officers and military advisers, in the Eastern Ghouta’s operation, in the side of the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian, Arab and Asian nationalities, which aim to control the entire Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and to finish the control of the factions over it, where the forces of the Brigadier in the regime forces Suhail Al-Hassan withdrew from the eastern and the south-eastern sections of Idlib countryside few weeks ago, to head this operation with Russian soldiers and advisers.
