Tens of Russian airstrikes target the southern section of the Eastern Ghouta leaving 10 casualties and tens of wounded in Saqba

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the southern section of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus has been witnessing continuation of the intensive bombardment since after the midnight of Thursday – Friday, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that warplanes and helicopters targeted this morning, places in Saqba, Ein Tarma, Kafr Batna and Hazza by more than 25 raids and explosive barrels, and the warplanes also targeted Saqba city yesterday after the midnight by about 20 raids, which resulted in the death of 10 persons and the injury of tens others with varying severity, and they also targeted areas in Kafr Batna town by several raids after the midnight, which resulted in the break out of fire in the area. In the same context, the violent clashes are still continuing between Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and Al-Rahman Corps against the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, inside Hamouriyah city in the southern section of the Eastern Ghouta, in an attempt by the factions to regain the control of the entire of the city after they managed to regain the control of large portions of it last night, while the regime forces are trying to advance towards Saqba city from the outskirts of Hamouriyah.

Thus, it has increased to 1272, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 252 children and 171 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5020 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 740 casualties including 111 children and 88 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night that the clashes continue at a violent pace in places in Hamouriyah city in the southern part of the Eastern Ghouta, between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and Rahman Corps, in a continuation for the counterattack carried out by the latter in order to regain control of the city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham with the support of fighters of Rahman Corps regaining control of large portions of Hamouriyah city, while they continue their attempt recover it fully, while the regime forces are trying to absorption of the attacks by a cover of intensive rocket shelling, and the clashes were accompanied by intense exchange of shelling which caused more casualties in the ranks of both p[arties, where 14 members at least of the regime forces were killed and a large number of other members were wounded, which may raise the number of casualties.
