Harasta witnesses the displacement of the first batch of citizens and the regime forces advance into Kafr Batna and the bombardment raises the number of casualties to 1400 citizens including 450 children and women

Rif Dimashq Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of the displacement from the Eastern Ghouta of hundreds of citizens who headed from the controlled areas of Al-Rahman Corps in the south-western pocket of the Eastern Ghouta, through Hamouriyah passage, to positions of the regime forces in the Eastern Ghouta, while the numbers of displaced people increased, after more than 10 thousand citizens had come this morning out of the pocket controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that this displacement is coincided with violent and intensive shelling by the regime forces and warplanes and helicopters on areas in Kafr Batna, Zamalka, Saqba and Ein Tarma, amid ongoing violent clashes between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the Islamic factions, in areas in the south-western pocket of Ghouta, controlled by Al-Rahman Corps, amid advancement by the regime forces and they took the control of more than half of the area of Kafr Batna town, within their attempts to advance and take the control of the entire town, and clamp down on Al-Rahman Corps even more, and confirmed information about human losses in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored the displacement of tens of citizens from Harasta city controlled by Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic movement, where the citizens displaced towards the regime forces’ controlled areas connected to the capital Damascus, also the SOHR learned that the airstrikes that targeted Ein Tarma town, resulted in the death of 6 citizens at least including 4 children, as well as the injury of others with varying severity, raising to 36 including 4 children, the number of casualties who have been killed today, in bombardment which resulted in two massacres in Zamalka and Ein Tarma, raising to 1400, the number of the Syrian civilians whose death was documented by the Syrian Observatory in the Eastern Ghouta, including 274 children and 173 women, who have been killed since the 18th of February 2018, by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling on the cities and towns of Douma, Harasta, Arbin, Zamalka, Hamouriyah, Jesrin, Kafr Batna, Hazza, Ash’ari, Nashabiyah, Aftries, Otaya, Al-Shifonyyah, Al-Marj area, Mesraba, Madyara, Beit Sawa, and other areas in the besieged Ghouta of Damascus, resulted in the injury of more than 5190 citizens including hundreds of children and citizen women with varying severity, some of them have permanent disabilities, while the bodies of tens of citizens are still under the rubble of destruction caused by the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling by the regime forces on the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, and the total death toll documented by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, includes 868 casualties including 133 children and 90 women who were killed and documented by the SOHR after the resolution of the UNSC, which failed again to stop the killing of the people of the Eastern Ghouta, and the shelling resulted in the fall of hundreds of wounded, where the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, amid the tragic humanitarian situation of the people of Ghouta, who intersected sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that they do not leave the shelters for fear of the intensive shelling, amid inability of the medical staff to relieve all medical cases.
