The escalation on the capital Damascus and its outskirts by shells completes its 4th month with more than 900 casualties and wounded

Several explosions rocked areas in the middle of the capital Damascus and its suburbs since today morning, Saturday the 17th of March 2018, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that these explosions caused by the fall of several shells on separated areas, where the SOHR monitored the fall of a rocket shell on places in Al-Maliki area, in conjunction with the fall of other shells on places in Al-Dawila area, also a shell fell on Rukn Al-Din area, while 2 shells fell on areas in the vicinity of Al-Mouhajrin neighborhood and Sheikh Mohieddin neighborhood, which resulted in the death of a person and the injury of more then 12 others with varying severity, and this fall of shells was coincided with targeting Jaramana District, by a shell at least, which caused material damage, without information about casualties.

This successive targeting to the capital since today morning, is coincided with completing the targeting to the capital Damascus and its districts controlled by the regime forces an gunmen loyal to them, its 4thconsecutive month, since it was started on the 16th of November 2017, this ongoing escalation which takes place daily on the regime’s controlled areas inside the capital Damascus, its outskirts and the districts controlled by the regime forces, resulted in the death and the injury of hundreds of people.

And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 140 persons at least including 21 children and 19 citizen women, who were killed as a result of the fall of these shells, and the SOHR documented the injury of more than 768 persons who were injured in these daily targeting during 4 consecutive months, including tens of children and citizen women, some of whom have seriously injured and have permanent disability, and the SOHR also monitored the continuation of the poor health condition of some of the injured people, which may raise the death toll.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also monitored the targeting which was carried out on the outskirts of Al-Wafideen Camp, areas of Al-Dawila, Al-Sawika, Al-Fahama Khalid bin al-Walid Street, and other areas in Old Damascus, as well as places in Al-Zablatany, Al-Qassaa, Bab Touma, Al-Mujtahed, al-Fayhaa, Al-Abasyeen, Seba’ Baharat, Aish Al-Warawar, Jarmana, Dahyat Al-Assad, Military Teshereen Hospital and other places in the center of the capital, which caused material damage to the property of the citizens in the places where these shells had fallen.
